The slow romance also spiced it up for me, actually seeing how the relationship is planted, germinates, and watching it bloom and bears fruit. The satisfaction is comparable to as if you just unearthed a forgotten happy memory from your childhood. Each core characters got their own unique personality, which really adds ambience into the story. Some characters might be too annoying, but hey! there's nothing perfect on this world, we all got our own flaws.
