He used her, he was a weak ML, he had his strength and yes he made things a whole lot better when he came back, but subsequently he helped LZ destroy herself (I know all the fault is not to layed at his feet), he knew the pangs of unrequited love and the pains of waiting and really choose not to cut of the thread joining them together and for that I detest this character flaw in him. Writer dearest what where u thinking ? I would really like to understand your justification for the arc in the story, cos their selfishness makes for a tough ?Then you added Apple to the mix ?? reading this is not leaving a favourable impression....hopefully the ML redeemed himself, cos his emotions and feelings are a mess.His hero complex has caused a lot of havoc and all this could have been avoided, the misunderstanding are all due to his shenanigans seriously soo much havoc, there's a limit to how much you can interfere in someone's life without destroying that person
