Have you abandoned this book Author??
ok the story line is good and I like the book but it seems rushed like they talk like they're flying thru it sometimes and the chapters are wicked short but otherwise it's a good read so far
Very few chapters out so far, but I think this novel has had a strong start, and I like the premise. The main character (MC) is also enjoyable. I disagree with the other review that wants the novel to rush into introducing the mastermind to the MC. It’s a good thing for the novel to take its time and let the MC become accustomed to her new world and body before diving into the main plot. A common trap many novels fall into is rushing things to keep the pace fast, which often leads to a lack of proper development. This novel seems to be avoiding that trap, and I’m excited to see where it goes.
A breath of fresh air, both the MC and ML are full of character. Especially the ML; I was actually surprised by his character setup, but it made me feel happy and refreshed. It’s really nice ?
If this were an anime, it would undoubtedly fall under the shonen category. Seen through that lens, it's actually quite impressive. It does incorporate some comedic elements, and plot points are gradually revealed as you progress through the story, primarily due to limited information access. The spoiler here is that everyone, including non-playable characters (NPCs), is striving to survive within the tower.
MC is a typically intelligent character blessed with incredible luck. Despite having a frail physique, his strength is still reasonably adequate, and he possesses a mystical ability known as Winds, which mitigates the weakness. The side characters are rather generic, with the princess being the only one who is somewhat well-developed.
Romance:
The princess does indeed develop feelings for MC, and so far, she appears to be the primary romantic interest. While the novel doesn’t heavily focus on romance, her relationship with MC is significant.
Everything generally unfolds as planned, and even when it doesn’t, MC manages to turn the situation to his advantage. I should also note that MC has mysophobia (a fear of germs). Some reviews criticize this aspect as being too extreme, but the severity can vary. For MC, the act of brushing his teeth is just one minor manifestation of his mysophobia, which helps readers understand the condition early on. This detail becomes less relevant as the story progresses.
There is a system in place, but it plays a minimal role. MC can level up a skill called "Stratagem," but this feature is largely inconsequential. Titles he earns provide minor boosts, adding a slight layer of complexity. However, the leveling process is so gradual that it barely impacts the plot.
Devil's Blood Explanation:
MC has a trait known as Devil's Blood, which grants him enhancements when his desire for something is intense. If others discover his Devil's Blood, he risks being abducted by Devil worshippers for experiments.
MC’s penalty traits are surprisingly fortunate. Out of three traits, he received the best possible options, avoiding more detrimental ones like cannibalism or vampirism. I rated this story 4 stars because, although it remains fairly generic, the plot is engaging, and I find the premise intriguing. My attachment to MC might make me a bit biased, but I would recommend this novel if you have the time. I would probably rate it a 7/10.
