The pacing in these chapters is absolutely relentless and I have zero complaints. We go from a suffocating business dinner where Luo Yunmian's world gets dismantled in French, to her bolting to the bathroom, to being yanked into a neighboring room by Fu Yanchi, to a romantic walk along the Seine, to hiding in her own bathroom while her fiancé tries to sleep with her—all before the chapter ends. That is some serious narrative velocity. The author knows exactly when to accelerate and when to slow down. The dinner scene lingers just long enough for the cruelty to sink in, then suddenly we're in motion. The Seine walk is the breath between storms—lyrical, almost dreamlike, with those shimmering reflections on the water. Then BOOM, back to the hotel, panic mode, changing clothes, hearing knocking at the door. The transition from the romantic jianbing guozi moment to "Yunmian, are you in the room?" is brutal and perfect. It's like the universe itself can't let them have a single peaceful moment. And that final scene with Fu Tingshen on the edge of her bed, the bathroom crash as a save, the phone ringing like a death knell—it's structured like a series of mini cliffhangers stacked on top of each other. I needed to immediately open the next chapter and I'm not even embarrassed to admit it.

I am back after completing it, it took me almost 2 months and couple of purchases to read it completely but it was worth it untill the last episode, I seriously can't believe a book so good has that pathetic rushed ending, completely disappointing. I dont understand what happened in end.
