That is such a specific, devastating kind of love. He doesn't want his sister to know how hard he's working, but he also can't hide how happy he is that she finally accepted him. The fact that he immediately drops the package and rushes over when he hears her voice, scolding her for being out in the heat while his face radiates delight — that contrast is everything. And then later when Wang Hao tears his shirt and calls his clothes fake? His reaction isn't just anger at the insult, it's genuine devastation because those were GIFTED to him by his sister and he hadn't even gotten to wear them properly. The sibling dynamic here is so quietly powerful. Zhong Suian on the other hand — she's wealthy, sure, but she's also genuinely trying. She walks ten minutes in the heat to find him, brings him gifts, insists on eating with him. Her line 'Why are you being so polite with me?' hits hard because she's recognizing that he's been putting up walls and she's tired of it. Their relationship arc in these chapters feels like two people slowly learning how to be honest with each other.
