Love this book, it was so great with a very strong Female lead. But interaction with the sibling was minimal, hence I'm more interested if the next story be of Petrov... Larry, Stephan, Carl or even Lyon Stepanov... these will be more interesting for me with the Mafia storyline.

The opening scene in that warehouse compartment is so vividly written I could literally feel the cold. 'Faint rustling sounds echoed in the small compartment on the cold night.' Just two lines and I'm there. The shelves blocking the light, the dim corners, the sliver of morning light filtering through — it's cinematic in the best way. And the factory compound setting! This is 1976 China, Lantern Festival evening, and the author paints this whole world through small details. The warehouse in the backyard of Jiangcheng Textile Factory. The adultery-catching squad led by Hu Xiuying. Cao Xiaoli, the former assistant who became the female lead's lackey. These aren't just background characters, they're a whole ecosystem of gossip, power dynamics, and social surveillance. What I love most is how the setting itself becomes a character. Everyone knows everyone's business. A woman's reputation can be destroyed by being caught in the wrong place. Premarital intimacy means imprisonment for both parties. The factory compound is this closed world where social death is just as real as physical danger. When the adultery-catching squad shows up pounding on the door, the atmosphere shifts from intimate terror to public exposure in seconds. That's worldbuilding that serves the plot.

Oh my goodness!I love this story! I’m so giggly reading the tandem between Kayleigh and Kill and Kayleigh and Andrei. Shouldn’t it be love square though since there is another person in the mix (Kinsley a.k.a Kensington)? I can’t wait to read the next chapters!!! Thanks for giving us this lovestory.
