I like the anime and manga a lot, especially the mix of comedy and food. I hope the novel will give more insight into and comedy and to find out what happened to the three others that were summoned with the MC
This novel has a special place in my heart. Translation's rough for the early chapters but it gets okay later on. i recommend this if you like novels about the entertainment industry.

There is yuanying/nascent soul level manual in one sect but that sect is small and just a sect that branched off from qianzhen sect.

I've read other works from this author, and typically, the main character (MC) in Chinese romance novels is a cool and calculating beauty, involved in harem dramas or seeking revenge after an unjust demise. However, this MC, He Yan, stands out. She's naive yet cunning, humorous yet intelligent, and坚强不屈, managing to keep a smile despite the emotional pain. Her transformation isn't sudden; losing everything once and being estranged from her previous family shapes her character.
While I appreciate the idea of providing her with a loving new family as compensation for her past, I find the plot twist a bit unsettling, since the original He Yan is no longer present. It's difficult to fully embrace the situation without feeling deceived. The lack of conflicts due to the personality change stretches credibility, but perhaps it's due to the father's protective nature.
One thing I enjoyed was the character development throughout the story, but some villains lacked depth. I empathized with MC's cousin, even though he brought his downfall upon himself. This story isn't solely focused on revenge, which I found refreshing, as it allows MC to pursue other aspirations beyond seeking justice.
The male lead, ML, is a funny and complex character, a powerful figure with a genuine human side beneath his cold exterior. Their relationship had its charming moments,尽管大部分 issues stemmed from MC's perspective.
The supporting characters were well-developed, though some backstory might feel excessive. I could easily forget a few of MC's companions, but that's on me. The portrayal of the Utos as one-dimensional and easily defeated was a missed opportunity for complexity.
In the climax, my heart sank when certain events unfolded (major spoilers). It felt realistic, but emotionally devastating.
Overall, a strong recommendation: try to read this novel without long breaks, as it packs a punch when experienced in one sitting."

What I appreciate is the well-paced chapters that keep me hooked, seamlessly transitioning between action and providing context to deepen our understanding.
Frey is an engaging protagonist. He's proactive, which drives the plot forward, and while he can be ruthless when necessary, he doesn't shy away from difficult situations. His kindness and selflessness make him relatable, but he's not overpowered – he relies on his intelligence to overcome challenges.
What sets this work apart from typical harem novels is the development of the heroines' relationships with Frey. Each character has a distinct backstory and a genuine reason to dislike him initially. As they learn more about the truth, their feelings evolve, making for a more authentic and satisfying love story progression.
