It's a delightful and heartwarming short story, perfect for a leisurely read during idle moments.
This isn't the first book from this author I've read, so I had high expectations, similar to the quality I experienced with "Military Empress," given all the positive reviews. However, I must say, I'm utterly disappointed. There are moments where the supposedly intelligent main character (MC), who once held a general's rank, behaves in ways that make me question my suspension of disbelief. Here are a few examples:
1. As a simple soldier, she frequently approaches trainers and even the general herself, asking numerous, often silly questions, as if they should divulge confidential information just because she asks.
2. She brazenly picks locks and invades the general's personal space, like entering his room at whim, even when she can't sleep. The idea of a soldier casually roaming a general's quarters is hard to fathom, especially before any romantic connection.
3. She persistently pushes for the general, who is also our love interest (ML), to join her elite unit and engage in battles, as if she holds no understanding of hierarchy or protocol.
4. She provokes conflicts intentionally, hoping for the ML's attention, which only raises his suspicions, yet she fails to grasp why she's being watched so closely.
5. Despite knowing her new body might struggle with excessive alcohol consumption, she drinks like a horse and puts herself in absurd situations, seemingly oblivious to the consequences.
There are many more ridiculous moments, but I held onto hope that the plot would improve or the MC would mature. Alas, that didn't happen. Halfway through the book, I couldn't continue; it just wasn't for me.

but in my opinion the magic aspect kind of seems stupid to me i would have honestly preferred if there was no magic in this just a advanced quantum storage device or something with bio compatible genetic modifications that changed his brain and stuff not some fairy land magic rune sh*t
