"To be so young and yet so crooked, learning the ways of a bandit." — Aunt Liu absolutely lost it here and I am HERE for it. Let me just say: this entire sequence is a masterclass in building tension through what seems like minor domestic squabbles that escalate into full-blown family warfare. You start with Madam Zhang trying to squeeze three hundred taels out of Shen Qingru for a rundown property — which is already absurd on its face — and then it just keeps compounding. The sour date cakes. The snatching. The dust-covered pastries on the ground. Xiao Yu crying silently because she knows no one will believe her. And then Aunt Liu, who has been swallowing insults for years, finally snaps and lays out every grievance in one breathless monologue. What I love is how the plot uses a child's stolen snacks as the catalyst for exposing decades of systemic abuse. The little fatty isn't just a brat — he's the product of his mother's spoiling and his grandmother's favoritism, and his meltdown is the perfect mirror of the whole toxic family structure. When Shen Qingru points out the pastry crumbs still on his mouth, that's the moment the whole house of cards starts trembling. Madam Zhang's rage, Mrs. Lyu's performative victimhood, Aunt Liu's explosion — it all converges in this one courtyard scene. And then the men come home and we're left hanging. The author knows exactly when to stop. I literally gasped when the chapter cut off.
great

WOW! The story is so amazing! I love the character of Arjun, a very possesive and one-woman-man! Well, as what the saying goes that all is fair in love & war, right? He did everything in the name of love! Good job author!
