"Roooar!!!" (Yea, I feel so much better now! It's like I've been blessed and stronger. Let's find a peaceful place here if there is one... Seems like I'm back in business baby! Back to the wildlife!)
"chingu?" rein
Conrad was tall and had the same golden hair and emerald eyes as Dante's mother, since he too was of royal descent of the Blumen, but he became Dante's Steward and lost his right to the succession of the Imperial Province of Blumen.
"Well, then. I am coming down to the park near your house by today evening. Are you free to meet me?"
That would be kinda funny, at least. I decided to take that upcoming laugh as payment for this glorious rescue. There were no better rescue rates in all the Eight Kingdoms! Just offer a laugh and the gallant Thalladrum Von Redding will come to your rescue! Fuck me.
"Anything," Tempest Mistral said. "I would love to demonstrate more, but I have much to say." She scanned the crowd. "I am descended from many kings and many queens. My blood is royal and tainted with ichor. Pain is familiar to me, as it is to you. I have experienced things that even those wrapped in chains could never understand." Her gaze briefly settled on Loki before her eyes betrayed some sort of emotion and she looked back to us. "Demigods, most of you are runaways. But did you run at six years old from creatures that should have never existed? Were you forced from your home because of family or creatures unimaginable? Were you told you had a past you could not remember and a curse that would not fade? Did your life seem like a broken soundtrack?" She stopped, letting her questions linger. "For most of you, the answer is yes, but you do not share the same extent of pain as the person next to you or the one speaking to you right now." She smiled bitterly. It didn't reach her eyes. "My story...I can bet you would like to know it. Many of you would go to the extreme to find out my secrets"—once again her eyes lifted to the deities in the back of the amphitheater—"as some of you have already done. But I warn you, you will have little success in finding much about me.
In the streets of the cities were several stands and merchants trying to sell their products to different farmers and deadly passing around.
"Mom… did we really curse Dad to death? I only just found him—I haven't even seen him since. I don't want him to die." I need a minute. I literally need a minute. This is the kind of line that just punches you in the chest and doesn't let go. Tuantuan, who just got through a brutal fight with six kids, who stood up to an entire mob of adults, who took a brick to the foot and didn't even flinch — he breaks because he thinks he killed his father. That's not a child's burden to carry. That's not something any kid should have to process. And Qin Nian's response? "Your father will be fine. He was injured protecting the people. It has nothing to do with you." She doesn't dismiss it. She doesn't brush it off. She looks him right in the eye and tells him the truth, and then adds "Tomorrow I'll take you to see him. Once he sees you, he'll get better right away." She gives him something to hold onto. Then Dou Dou chiming in with "Dou Dou doesn't want Daddy to die either" while clinging to her brother — I'm not okay. The image of these two kids, pale and tender-faced after scrubbing off their disguises, finally letting themselves cry in their mother's arms after holding it together through everything? That's the moment this whole story clicks into place for me. This isn't just about revenge or survival. It's about a mother who finally gets to be the safe place her children needed. The scene where she tells them "Crying in front of Mom isn't shameful" and Tuantuan finally lets go — I'm not crying, you're crying.
