Good premise translation needs to be cleaned up a bit.
The definition of "debt" is arbitrary as fuck though, added with him being able to pick whatever he wants without balance you might as well say he can steal anything and control everyone around him. He doesn't have to make a clever plan or complete tasks that build an actual debt of equivalent exchange so there really isn't alot of tension.
I've read far more cr*ppy series than this, but I've never been angry enough to comment on any of them. mc and mentor are the leaders of the fool. they do sh"t - as if they have a reason - and act like they have a purpose. Everything that happens is up to chance. don't read clear.
Came from other novel's comments.
Gotta' dive in, See you later
Have you tried the game? I got the wife~
Quite so. You will have two challenges though. First is to get into it initially because there will be no real introduction to the world, cultivation system or special lingo. Second is translation issues which appear halfway through. Good luck!
"White Lotus initially starts as a humorous imitation of 'Rebirth of an Unlucky Concubine' by the same author as 'Malicious Empress.' The protagonist, a daughter of a wealthy official and royal blood, is sent to the countryside following her mother's death, supposedly to pray for the family's fortune after a Taoist's false prophecy. The father, uninvested, is more concerned with his favored concubine's machinations, leading the protagonist to feel neglected and ill. The concubine's children become the favored children, and around 13 or 14, they return to seek revenge. In the typical revenge-rebirth narrative, the protagonist outwits the concubine and her eldest daughter.
White Lotus then takes the extreme aspects of such stories to new heights, though without the graphic violence seen in 'Ill-Fated Consort's'第一章. It's important to note that this story should not be taken seriously – it's a parody meant to be absurd. Initially, I might have dropped it, but I've come to appreciate it as an exaggerated parody, crossing the line into the realm of 'WTF' territory.
Here's a amusing excerpt from Chapter 7 describing the impact of the protagonist on the men she attracts:
'Cheng Tao's soft voice caused a rapid heartbeat, and she couldn't help but say, "Madam, the gentlemen you admired earlier reside in the mansion. They're so bored they've mastered all eighteen martial arts, and any attempt to bully you has resulted in them being punished until they're mentally broken. Madam, these individuals are becoming increasingly dangerous. If Imperial Doctor Shi were to join, I fear... that I..."
"What do you fear?" Su Mo Li looked at Cheng Tao puzzled.
Cheng Tao's eyes rolled back, her voice lifeless, "Young Master Chen used to be an artist, but now he paints on corpses. Young Master Li once embroidered, but now stitches on corpses. Young Master Ma, who was a carver, now carves exclusively on corpses. Madam, Imperial Doctor Shi saves lives, but I worry he may turn into a murderous fiend!"
This story rates around a 3.5 for me, but I'll round up for the sake of it."
Is it that bad? I feel like I should read it to get a new low. If you’ve read Parallel Memory, is it worse than that? If it is, I’ll definitely check it out.

D*mn. I just scrolled a little lower and immediately saw someone praising Parallel Memory lmao.
It already has 406 novel chapters. Sorry, but I can't share the site name here, as it's forbidden to share other sites names or links here.
Is lightnovelpub run mainly by women? That's the only explanation at this point all of a josei and bl novels.
That's not the way Boss Pei!! That's not the way to lose money! Take it from me. Invest less in the product and waste all your resources into marketing, this Boss Pei just don't get it.A truly worthless game is one without any thoughts at all, bugs, crashes, and low quality stuff is the way. Ofcourse, you have to be unscrupulous enough to bypass ESRO but Boss Pei is already in a checkmate by the system though.Still, I stand to my opinion that the best way to lost money is to waste it in marketing.Spending zero in marketing is not really wasting money, does it? If I have 300,000 yuan, l'd spend 50k to the game and the rest is marketing... too unreasonable, no? Yup, that's pretty much my point.I enjoy the novel so far, I am at 50ish something
Not that I dislike it; I'm just not a huge fan. When compared to the other two, Sc*mb*g is only a passable book in my opinion. It's also influenced by my preferences.
I love the story it's not different than what you would have probably read it'it's just that but better because it does not try to be different just for the sake of being different writer knows what people enjoy reading and that's his biggest quality good luck for the future
brother is a big writer in the making so I'll stay on his good side DDon't forget me when you make it big ?
