Another fantastic tale by Nian Zhong!
This time, the author delves into the cultivation genre, though it stands apart from the typical cultivation stories you might encounter. (As you'd expect from this author)
The story begins in a lighthearted manner, with the main character (MC) and the love interest (ML) founding the smallest and poorest cultivation sect, boasting only two members and a few coins. Each believes they've outsmarted the other in their pursuit of an immortal artifact. Of course, this is just the beginning. The backgrounds of both characters are more intricate than they realize, and their ties to the overarching conspiracy run deeper than they could have imagined.
I found the primary antagonist particularly intriguing (no spoilers here!), especially in how they interact with the other villains.
As is characteristic of Nian Zhong’s work, the characters often exist in a gray moral area (especially the leads) rather than being purely good or evil. There are some incredibly creative horror scenes, intense battles, utterly absurd situations, and plenty of snarky dialogue.
For fans of Nian Zhong, I can't recommend this story strongly enough. It's absolutely fabulous!

This is illogical. If you truly want revenge, just go ahead and do it. Why involve someone else's perspective just to justify your inaction? The author fails to craft a believable revenge story; it becomes absurd and contradicts their intended narrative. The protagonist should have taken the opportunity to eliminate Saeki but instead chose to be cowardly, fearing expulsion. Ultimately, he ended up expelled after killing Kogkyou – where's the reasoning behind his actions? It's clearer that the author is more confused than Hidaka.

The author literally rushed the ending, could've ended it with a few more chapters, not a vague ending... All in all, its good! I recommend it to readers who likes to read Novel about Martial Arts :)
I would rate the story 3 out of 5 and the entertainment value 3 as well. I've decided to drop it after the third arc; it's simply not what I'm in the mood for at the moment. While the first arc was decent, the second one fell flat for me.
