good book but not finished and left you hanging
This book was so good. I was so invested in it, book 3 gave me so much anxiety and I had to keep reading until I knew what happened
plz update
I need to talk about Lin Dong. Not because he's the male lead or anything, but because this man is quietly the best dad in the entire novel so far. Let me tell you—when he hands her another 1,000 yuan and says "Only if you take more money will I feel at ease," I actually had to pause and stare at the ceiling for a second. This isn't some performative fatherly love. He's a retired soldier who's been through stuff, and he's making it up to her because he knows he couldn't protect her mother. The scene at the station where he rides the bicycle with her suitcases while she walks behind him in that floral dress—"The contrast made Yao Qingqing even more jealous"—that's not just plot convenience, that's a father saying everything he can't put into words. And then there's the moment he lets her go. "Lin Dong was reluctant to see his daughter leave, but given the current situation, he knew there was no choice." He doesn't beg her to stay. He doesn't guilt her. He just trusts her. That's rare in these novels where fathers are either tyrants or doormats. This guy is just... present. Solid. Real. Now, the romantic tension with Fang Tianze? We barely got a taste. That hand on her shoulder, that "deep, magnetic voice"—classic setup, I'll give the author credit for it. But honestly, I'm more invested in the family dynamic than any CP right now. The author seems to understand that sometimes the most powerful emotional thread isn't romance, it's the question of whether someone who lost their mother still knows what it feels like to be unconditionally loved. Lin Jiayi clearly does, and that's why she's so confident on that train. She's not performing bravado—she's operating from a place of genuine security. Which makes me wonder: when things get hard in the countryside, will that foundation hold, or will the author test it?
Great romantic novel
Great read
Interesting book to read...
The book is so good. Just hate that it hasn’t been finished yet. I don’t think it’s fair to invest yourself into a book until it’s done because by the time the update has popped up, u have to go back and read a little before to remember what you’ve already read.
A good story to read from start to end.
Interesting story so far- waiting for an update
