This kid has been through hell and her first instinct when someone is kind to her is to throw herself at that person's feet and beg to serve them. That's not cute, that's devastating. But then Dogdan yells 'Me too!' and hugs her too, and suddenly the scene flips from heartbreaking to warm in the span of two sentences. The way the author writes Lin Yue just patting their backs and feeling her heart melt—it's simple but it works because we've earned it. Every chapter they've been testing her, measuring whether she's real, and now they're just... hugging her. No more hesitation. That moment where Da Ya says 'I'll obey whatever you say, do whatever you ask' and Lin Yue responds 'I'll treat you as my little sister'—that's the emotional core of the whole story right there. Found family, earned not given.
