I spotted this after reading something else and thought, eh seems interesting. AND IT IS.Its actually pretty damn awesome so far and i am really keen to read more.

If the story would go on then you could say it has potential. But as the book ends poorly and apruptly in the middle of the story with none of the riddles solved i would advise all people who would consider to read this book to keep of to prevent them from the same disappontment.
I have to talk about how the author weaponizes pacing in these chapters because it is genuinely masterful. We start with something almost domestic—harvesting cabbages, dealing with annoying neighbors, cooking dinner. It's slow, almost cozy. Jiang Yuanyuan is calculating her expenses, planning to buy fish and chicken, thinking about hiring a farmer to teach Chu Jing. You could almost fall asleep reading this. And then—BAM. A shadowy figure climbs over the wall, gets impaled on iron nails, and the next morning everything seems normal again. But it's not normal. Because Granny Yu is already plotting with Zhang the Lame, and by Chapter 9, Jiang Yuanyuan is being dragged into the woods. The transition from the quiet courtyard scene to the violent assault is so jarring and it works perfectly. One moment she's stir-frying cured meat with Sichuan peppercorns, and the next she's gagged and bound on a rock. The author doesn't warn you. She just drops you into the horror and makes you experience it alongside Jiang Yuanyuan. That's how you build tension—by making the reader feel safe right before taking it away. And the rescue? Instant relief, but then immediately followed by the walk back through the village where everyone's staring. Chu Jing carrying an unconscious man over his shoulder while Jiang Yuanyuan clings to him—this is the kind of scene that becomes a meme in the book community. The villagers who ignored her when she was being carried into the hills now notice when she's being carried out. The irony is almost comedic, but it's also deeply satisfying. The chapter ends on this note of unresolved tension—Zhang Dazhu shouting after them, the authorities yet to be notified, and the entire village still hostile. The author knows exactly when to let you breathe and when to grab you by the throat.

Another buddism & Taoist theme which so cliche, and this translator got some issues on updates stability. trust me by deleteting some bad review will not help at all cause people bored on this kind of sh1t already
You're typical web-novel. No defining moments, no defining characters, no intriguing plot. Straightforward, make random enemies, get strong, kill people and get bitches. Just read if you're bored and want to waste time.
As you would expect it's another copy paste novel by IET with some minor modifications.Demons are evil as they feast on humans. Act of killing humans make you accumulate sins and hence bring the wrath of Heavens.But if Humans feast and kill animals as a part of food cycle the sins accumulated are almost negligible.You see MC is someone who hates evil. By evil I mean the act of feasting on young human children. Making children orphans, etc.But the great part is that the evil is only limited to food cycle of Demons. Because MC himself enjoy the meat of animals. Tell me when humans kill animals and eat them...isn't that the same evil humans in the novel blame Demons for?I'm not some PETA ambassador or anything. Heck , I enjoy non-vegetarian food myself. Just saying that the author should try to be neutral instead of only calling Demons as pure evil.It's food cycle as far as Heavens are concerned.Author can't say that those eating fish are evil but the ones eating chicken are saints. Or can he ? Well , he exactly says that.The novel is full of such great logic.
awesome story.. i loved this it's a good story so far it looks like it has a lot of potential, i hope he won't drop it.well.. it's not that much different from cultivation novels, still a little unique.

I really cant understand how its possible for this novel to achieve a raiting like that.I mean are all the people that are putting a raiting out there even reading the same novel i am or have they even read half of it?Now let me start with my honest and (as far as possible) objective opinion.First of all even after all the harsh things i did say so far im not saying that this novel doest deserve any attention as the story in itself is pretty enjoyable to read. Otherwise i would not have read it for more than 1400 chapters. The thing is im not willing to put a 4-5 star raiting out there for any n novelovel that doesnt make my eyes start to bleed. As you can see i dont have anything to criticize about writing and update quality. The world background is also pretty good in my opinion. The big problem is the story developement and chatacters which in my opinion are the most important parts about a novel. The thing is the problems here are not easy to ignore.The author pretty much create a new stage for the mc every arc and discardes it completely afterwards. Items, abilitys people he met are completely forgotten a few chapters after first mentioning them.The timetable doesnt make any sense either at some points and important aspect of the story are just ignored from one moment to another. Sometime its like reading one filler after another without context between them. Obviously some "forgotten" things are easier to ignore than others but its definitely bad writing either way. The author just creates too many loose ends and doesnt bother about connecting them afterwards.Some examples with spoilers:•The bow he could only draw up to 10% because he was to weak will probavly never be drawn further because its never mentioned before.•The evil energy + demon puppet just disappeared•His totem and all about it•His avatar•the fact that xinton got first in that ancient battlefield 60 years ago. How the fuck should that be even possible if protagonist is struggling for survival (as always) even now?•and my personal favorite the cultivation supression while beeing inside that ancient battlefield. Progressing only in story because of that supression and few chapters later its suddenly gone without giving a fuck.These are probably not all the problems but definitely the most annoying for me. It might also be possible for me being wrong about some of the mentioned things but all in all a novel with problems at its core should be at a 3.something raiting as a good read while being bored and not 4-5 as there are enough outstanding novels that dont get anny attention.Btw im not a native eng speaker so im sorry for butchering the language here and there.
I think the idea of the novel is good. But the execution is bad. It’s basically nothing but face slapping
