It's alright; a slice-of-life novel with a touch of angst that provides a decent time filler once the conflicts are resolved. However, I do find the writing and romance elements a bit corny to my taste. I can relate to another reviewer's comment about the uneven pacing, particularly when it comes to the relationship development. The sudden shifts in the main love interest (ML)'s connection can feel abrupt, and I believe delving deeper into his thoughts or perspective might have improved the flow.
The translation quality starts to decline towards the end, with some issues like literal name translations instead of pinyin, gender confusion, and idiomatic expressions that might be confusing for non-native readers, especially when it comes to certain slang or innuendos.
Despite my initial enthusiasm, I didn't quite fall head over heels in love with this book. However, the interconnected nature of the characters does create potential for an engaging series. If you enjoyed this novel, you might be intrigued by its sequel, "Come a Little Closer," which explores the relationship between the ML, Fu Yunheng, and the FL, whose parents have their own love story in "Toothprint."
Just a small spoiler: In this book, the ML is Jiaochen's son, Fu Yunheng, following his parent's footsteps as a doctor, while the FL is related to the best friends of the MC, Ji Qingying, through her parents Chi Lu and Bo Yu, who have their own tale in "Toothprint."

it started out good but, i can't anymore with this. just finished 790 and the way the character has progressed is absolutely disgusting and hypocritical. the very example of an absolute trash personality that's surrounded by plot armor. forget the way he randomly treats others like he's confused of who he is himself but, he spoils is contracts to the point where some are almost as bad as him and some are worse than him. then he goes around and abuses them and manipulates them almost randomly. the development of the story is kinda all over the place and has been getting worse. on top of that the 1 ability that makes the mc special he rarely uses it as originally attended at this point. the author made it so he only wants to raise already developed, late stage monsters that are unique in some way instead of taking the time of raising that slot himself. it really is to the point where you think "whats the point?"

The author can't wrote dialogues to save his life. The dialogue sounds cardboard and cringe af.
oh boy! Eli had me rolling on the floor with his humor?. I really enjoyed the story and world built. Definitely worth to scroll up to read more.
