The story line is good however the flash back of the story I think shouldn't be redandant in every chapter it's a waste of time for the readers.

'This is not enough. You need more goods.' The old physician bowing and scraping before corrupt officers while stuffing a bulging cloth bundle into their hands. This single scene tells you everything you need to know about Shouzhou. It's a Gotham-like town where the line between law enforcement and bandits is blurred to the point of invisibility. The atmosphere the author builds is incredible. You've got this small inn that's secretly a front for dealing with both the underworld and the authorities. Liu Jin is simmering in frustration about how the officials are worse than actual bandits—taking money, herbs, and even women. One Lord Huang apparently beat young girls to death, more than the number of chickens his household consumed. This is dark worldbuilding that doesn't need a chapter of exposition because it's revealed through a single transactional scene. And the visual details! The red mole between Lu Dantao's brows exposed as she tilts her head back. The cold blade against her neck making goosebumps crawl up her spine. Xue Yao's handsome face covered in sweat, phoenix eyes half-lowered. The pink dress making her look like a peach blossom in full bloom against the grim backdrop. Every scene has this cinematic quality that makes you feel like you're watching a drama unfold frame by frame. The contrast between the warm, almost romantic descriptions of Lu Dantao and the cold, brutal reality of the world around her is what makes this setting feel alive. It's a place where beauty and danger coexist, and that's exactly the kind of world I want to get lost in.
