Fantastic! I’m not one like mystery story but the way this book start is perfect n she come me in .. so diff then other billionaires story ! Are you going to have sequel ? Love the ending but almost look like you leave it open ?

You can't flee the coming calamity because the state won't let you. That's how you turn a historical setting into genuine tension. And the Chi Family Hollow itself—the hunters, the barren soil, the two or three small vegetable plots per household, the rice and flour coming from selling game. This is a community that survives on the edge, not by choice but by geography. When the calamity hits, they're already one bad winter away from desperation. The author is setting up a pressure cooker and then turning up the heat. The space is another layer I want to talk about. It's not some generic storage dimension—it's THEIR house. The same house from before transmigration, now sitting on a barren wasteland. There's something deeply haunting about that image: the sofa where Chi Qiao collapses, the table with steaming dishes, the door that opens not to their old neighborhood but to endless empty land. It's a home without a home anymore. The physician's hall, the rented courtyard on the west side of the city, A Ye's friend's house next door—these locations feel specific and real. You can map this world in your head. The mountain hollow, the city, neighboring Anning County where Physician Li comes from. It all connects. And the visual of Chi Yu being jolted awake by hunger, alone in a room, with Madam Shen coldly informing her the baby was stillborn? That scene is cinematic. I can see it. The dim light, the empty cradle, the woman who doesn't care whether she lives or dies. The author doesn't need fancy descriptions—just the right details at the right moment.

Okay so I just finished this chunk and my brain is still spinning. Let me just say this — the author completely rewrote the original plot and I am HERE for it. In the original story, Xie Chengze beats Zhu Xiaobiao to death on the street and then six years later, some assassins show up at the Qionglin Banquet seeking revenge. But now? Now he SPARES him. Takes him along to Yi Province. What is the man even thinking?? The flashback Shen Yuan discovers is honestly the most important plot device in this entire section. Zhu Xiaobiao wasn't just some random bully — he was a genuinely good person who rescued abused people, hired tutors for them, treated them with kindness. The top scholar who tried to assassinate Xie Chengze? Zhu Xiaobiao saved his life. And in the original timeline, that same Xie Chengze who was supposed to be the villain ended up losing the hearts of the people because of how he handled things. The author is basically saying: one decision changes everything. Xie Chengze choosing mercy over violence isn't just a character moment — it's a PLOT BOMB. If Zhu Xiaobiao lives, those concubines live, the assassination never happens, and the entire political landscape shifts. I literally sat there going "wait, so the Second Prince is actually trying to AVOID the bad ending now?" That's some serious butterfly effect stuff. Also the scene where Xie Chengze throws the green command slip at them — that was such a power move. He goes from playful to icy in one second. "Are you implying that this Crown Prince has known hardship?" CHILL. The tension in that room was suffocating and I loved every second of it.

This particular unrequited love story is truly exceptional - it tugs at my emotions so powerfully that it breaks my heart (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻, yet I can't help but adore it. I'm definitely intrigued to explore more works by this author, whose writing style has captured my interest. It's not often that I come across an emotionally charged love story like this.

I stopped reading here and went to another web cuz translation here was BROKEN and I couldn't deal with it but that aside it's a nice light read for when you can't find anything to do after finishing a masterpiece or smth
