The uke's portrayal as independent with internal conflicts, especially concerning their emotions towards their partner and family, is compelling. The seme's loving and understanding nature adds a touch of humor, as they struggle to support and protect the uke who seemingly doesn't need their help.
While the scientific and war elements might not be perfect, they are negligible if you can overlook them and focus on the engaging storyline. As someone who isn't fond of science, I found the story enjoyable. So, I highly recommend this novel for its romantic aspects rather than its world-building. Just embrace it as a work of fantasy, and the strength lies in the characters' interactions and their journey together. Give it a read!
The novel has a slice-of-life vibe, which might initially appear slow-paced to some readers. However, after approximately 15 chapters, the plot picks up pace. It's understandable that the initial chapters might be monotonous, as I myself had to pause a couple of times. Starting from chapter 15 or so, the story becomes warmer and more endearing, with the protagonist defying logic and embarking on adventures, which I find quite charming.
I would recommend those who gave it low ratings to persist a little further, as the engaging parts are saved for later. Personally, I'd rate it 4 out of 5 stars, mainly due to its slower start.
