Okay so let me just say—this plot twist sequence is absolutely WILD. Sheng Xia gets stuck in mud fifty kilometers outside the city on her birthday, misses the whole celebration, and then stumbles home drunk only to find Gu Cheng'an waiting with DIVORCE PAPERS. Like, what the actual hell? The author really said 'let's escalate everything at once.' But here's what I love: Sheng Xia isn't just some passive victim. She KNEES him. She bolts. She calls Jing Ci and says 'find a woman for him—maybe Liu Mianmian?' And then when Liu Mianmian shows up, she literally sends her to Gu Cheng'an like 'Mr. Gu is looking for you!' This woman is playing 4D chess while everyone else is playing checkers. The medicinal wine plot is genius setup and payoff. She prepared it, he drank it, and instead of falling for it, she turns the tables. The author had Gu Cheng'an thinking HE was the one setting the trap, but really SHE was the one holding all the cards. And then the trending topic? 'Sheng Xia chased Liu Mianmian barefoot and beat her into a coma'? That's not even true and yet the internet believes it. The narrative is spinning so fast I can't keep up and I love it. Also—the divorce agreement detail! She reads it and realizes he was planning to make her leave penniless and in debt. That's not just a bad marriage, that's financial destruction. She narrowly escaped becoming a victim of both physical AND economic abuse. No wonder she's shaking.

Starting with a celebration and then immediately peeling back the layers to show how hollow it all is—that's a structural choice that sets the tone for everything that follows. The story knows exactly what it's doing.
