Why Does the author only give us one chapter every few days I don’t understand it
this book is very nice I love it very much
I need to just sit with this moment for a second because my heart is actually racing. Sheng Xia says something almost reckless in the car—"even if you two actually slept together, I wouldn't be angry"—and Gu Cheng'an's entire demeanor shifts. The text says his face darkened and he spoke word by word. That's it. That's all the author gives us and it's devastating. Here's what kills me: Sheng Xia genuinely doesn't understand why that comment upset him. She thinks he's just furious about Lu Xiaoxiao's injury. But the reader? The reader knows something Sheng Xia doesn't. Gu Cheng'an is clearly NOT over whoever Shen Xinhe is, but his reaction to Sheng Xia casually mentioning him sleeping with someone else? That's jealousy. That's possessiveness. That's a man who has no business being this angry but is absolutely furious. And then the divorce conversation in the office—Sheng Xia is trembling, scared, but she still says it. She's so done. She's exhausted from two years of being treated like an eyesore, and she's finally drawing a line. Gu Cheng'an's response? He scoops her up from the sofa. Not a conversation. Not even a real answer. Just physical control and silence. It's so painful to watch because you can feel both of them wanting something they can't admit to.
