The word for this book is 'beautiful', as it takes one on a magical carpet ride to a simpler time of innocence, where life was segmented into classes and everyone kept to their social status. It is a wonderful story in which the reader can effortless get immersed and lose themself in the beautiful story being narrated with a depth of clarity.

Wei Shufen is the real MVP of this family and I need everyone to understand this. She's the one who wakes up, realizes her third child's thoughts are echoing in her brain, and instead of losing her mind she just immediately sprints to confront Widow Lin. He's the silent gourd who can't get three words out even with a stick, as Jin Miao so perfectly puts it. The scene where he tries to defend himself about Widow Lin and ends up swearing he'll stay eight zhang away is both hilarious and heartbreaking. He's a man who wants to be respected in his own house but can't even manage that. And Jin Yao — the youngest sister who's been hiding her notebook and her crush on Chen Anguo — finally gets exposed by her own sister's thoughts. The fact that Jin Miao notices [didn't expect the youngest to finally open her eyes a bit] shows she's paying attention now, even while claiming she doesn't care.

I underestimated this book. The book has a good story idea and good character development. I highly recommend the book. I have one complaint though, there isn't enough chapter for me to read. Good luck author.
