Fantastic novel
I love this book. It’s the sequel to No Ones Luna. It’s suspenseful and full of drama and romance. Each chapter leaves you wanting more!!!!! I will definitely keep my eye out for any other books by Lily Dean!!!!
Fantastic book and writer.
A very nice love story that I enjoyed
Reread the book recently and just fall in love with it again! I loved the Beta's book too and waiting for the Gamma's book!
The chapters are too short!
There's this recurring image that's been bothering me in the best way: Yun Shu living right across the hall from Shi Muchuan, and neither of them fully acknowledging it. The elevator scene, the hallway encounters, him hearing the renovation noise from last month—all of this is building this theme of nearness without connection. They're literally meters apart but operating in completely separate emotional universes. The apartment itself is symbolic too. It's small, barely bigger than her old bedroom, a place she's staying in while her life is in limbo. But by the end of these chapters, it's starting to feel like *hers*. She's found a restaurant she likes, she's greeting neighbors, she's collecting affection points from elderly people in the park. This tiny space is becoming a home, which is huge given that her biological family rejected her and her adoptive family sent her away. Then there's the essence drops—the system offering her the second drop to heal her heart. It's this literal life-saving substance that she's choosing to wait on because she wants to be strong for her brother's visit. The essence represents hope and healing, but also the tension between self-preservation and self-sacrifice. Will she use it? When? What does it cost her to wait? And Yun Shanshan eating fruit on the sofa with her legs crossed while her parents apologize to *her*—that's a symbol of inverted power dynamics, of a family where the wrong person holds all the cards. The baby swap wasn't just a plot device, it's the root of every thematic conflict here: identity, belonging, who deserves love, and who gets to claim a family.
