I am reading all kinds of genre if the novel worth it. And I can't say I am a yaoi genre fan, but I am not against it. So, if the plot is good, if the characters are well designed, why not?
The reason I reply in first place was the contradiction: going to a novel tagged as yaoi and complain about this. I always read the tags carefully, as a matter of fact I don't like the harem tag at all, but if the plot is good and not centered on harem issue, I give a try.

The rate is not exaggerate at all, this is pretty well written story with light background. It's fun. I think part of the reason is the good translation itself, sadly it hasn't completed yet in here.
On August 20, 2022, as part of my ongoing three-year quest for emotionally intense novels that can bring tears (my guilty pleasure), this particular book has become one of my most anticipated additions to my collection. It features compelling anti-heroes, like Deculein from "The Villain Wants To Live" (though I'm not promoting that here).
For those who prefer less drama, I encourage an open-minded approach, even if there are some potentially cheesy moments (which, honestly, didn't bother me much, being a seasoned reader of such).
One minor disappointment is that all the heroine illustrations seem quite generic, with a clichéd voluptuous design. However, the protagonist's illustration truly shines, making me crave a connection I'll affectionately refer to as "daddy-like."
Jumping ahead to April 3, 2023, on my birthday, revisiting this old review, I've now finished the entire novel. In short, I highly recommend it – it's a rollercoaster of tragedy that packs a powerful emotional punch, thanks to the translation team's skill in bringing depth to the storylines.
In conclusion, regardless of any critiques, I would still give this book a full 5 out of 5 stars for its drama and the immersive experience it provides.
