The novel depicts the madness urged by the desire to own and control power. A brilliant premise as expected from a talented writer. A job well done by Pinkie.

It's not terrible, but it lacks depth. The characters come across as unengaging - there's no significant emotional impact, like a meaningful character death or development. They feel one-dimensional and bland.
The main character's arc is particularly disappointing. His "bloodlust"源于生存本能的设定，在短短几句话中就轻易解决，性格转变显得突兀且平淡。他的转变从胆小变得冷酷无情，这种剧情处理方式让人感到别扭且缺乏实质。
Despite these flaws, I've given it a 3 mainly due to the action sequences and the fact that the main character isn't overly annoying. There's potential for improvement if the story delved deeper into character dynamics and complexity.
Initially, I found the novel quite appealing, and I still enjoy it to some extent, as the storyline and characters are engaging. However, there's a significant issue that detracts from the overall experience. The author employs unnecessary tactics to prolong the plot and manipulate it towards her desired direction, such as having the protagonist suddenly trust someone he knows next to nothing about, specifically regarding a crucial plot point, despite his general skepticism towards others throughout the story.
The narrative improves after the initial chapters (around 20 or more), but don't come in expecting groundbreaking originality or groundbreaking content.
I had no clue this had a novel. Now I can fully enjoy this even more.
