I rate this at 4 stars primarily due to the relationship dynamics between MC and Curtis, which is something I haven't typically commented on before. Initially, I intended to give it 4 stars but accidentally rated it 3, so I'm correcting it now.
I appreciate the main character, MC, for her relatability and intrigue. The story itself is enjoyable, despite some sexual content, as it doesn't overshadow the plot. However, the peculiar dynamic between MC and Curtis is a sticking point. Initially, I hoped Curtis wouldn't be a romantic interest, but he is.
It's important to consider the backstory here. Curtis' behavior towards MC might not be favorable at first, but it's crucial to remember that he was severely abused by OG!Edith both emotionally and physically. The abuse they both endured creates sympathy for both characters, though their relationship is toxic. Normally, I wouldn't mind toxic relationships in fiction, but in this case, seeing Curtis' vulnerability after being hurt resonates more than it should.
While MC didn't physically abuse Curtis, being in the body of his abuser sometimes leads to insensitive reactions from her, which frustrates me. It's hard to watch Curtis struggle with the emotional scars left by OG!Edith, especially since she's no longer around.
In Chapter 54 pt2, a scene where Curtis reacts painfully to MC's cold demeanor further highlights this issue. It's disheartening to see him still affected by Edith's actions, despite her absence. Overall, the complex emotions and lingering effects of their past make the story engaging, but also uncomfortable in its portrayal of their relationship.
I thought city M was extremely big yet it only has 100 plus demons on it???? Author is not concise. chap 82..
Cute. But the tags is indeed correct

Does anyone know if MC ends up with his shidi (Ming Suwen)?

Here to give some advice!!
First thing you have to fix is to slow down the story the way I see it right now is that everything is going to fast.
Second is the character thinking and speaking try to put this “thinking” and this as ‘speaking’ it helps or you can look online to find what is better to suit you.
Three it seems that all the characters are speaking in one paragraph you should fix that no one’s want to read multitudes characters in one paragraph which it’s confusing for a lot of readers.
Fourth dont rush the story it seems that you are just putting what comes to mind which is good but put some logic into it and put some background story or some context of other characters like the first chapter i had no idea what was happening try to understand form the reader point of view we don’t understand what your thinking so the only way to show it is to explain to the reader what is happening but not to much info because no one likes it.
“Good luck”
Not my first language so sorry for not understanding it.
Try to learn from other people work it helps.
Story is good
It's in the context of ancient times when women were not treated as equal to men. Sexism is a common theme in cultivation novels because almost all of them are set in ancient times. The sexism and belittling of women isn't reflective of the author, it is reflective of the time period.
This is an excellent story with extremely Terrible editing.
The extreme selfless behavior of the leading female character is annoying. I skipped a lot of chapters just to see the ending.
it's perfection
