It often strips them of their autonomy and individuality, reducing them to mere objects rather than recognizing them as complex, sentient beings. This can evoke feelings similar to those associated with slavery, where humans are denied their basic rights and dignity. It’s a deeply troubling concept, especially when it devalues human life and treats people as less than equal to other creatures, much like how some people might treat their pets (which is also problematic, as animals deserve respect and care as well).
