I have to say something about the dialogue in this chapter because it's genuinely excellent. Most novels in this genre have characters who sound like they're reading from a script, but these people actually talk like human beings. Take the opening scene: 'Mom, can we have scrambled eggs with tomatoes tomorrow? I've eaten so much meat lately that it's getting a little greasy.' That's a kid complaining after eating well for once. It's natural, it's slightly bratty, and it's completely realistic. And Ye Qingyun's response — 'No ordering food. You eat whatever I cook. If you don't want it, then don't eat.' — that's not harsh, that's a mother setting boundaries. The dialogue does so much work in just a few lines. Wang Tiezhu's voice is distinct too. When he says 'Leave such a trivial matter to your master' while stroking an imaginary beard, you can hear the theatricality. He's performing, he's trying to feel important, and it's kind of funny. But then when he's actually delivering the flashlight and claiming it cost eight yuan, there's this shift — he's still performing, but there's genuine pride underneath. He did something hard for her, and he wants credit. The Wu Younian conversation is where the dialogue really shines. His hesitation about the surname change, his awkward phrasing about Ye Qingyun and Wang Tiezhu ('Old Wang has a bad reputation. You're raising four children by yourself. It's better no...') — he's clearly struggling to ask a sensitive question without being rude. And Ye Qingyun's impatience ('Big Brother, just say it') shows their relationship is comfortable enough for blunt honesty. Even the kids' dialogue is distinct. Fu Xiangdong's repeated 'Mom! I need to pee!' and 'Mom! Hurry!' isn't just comic relief — it's a child's sense of urgency, his excitement, his lack of filter. And when he grins mischievously through the door crack? That's pure kid behavior captured perfectly. The narrative voice also deserves mention. It's close third person, staying mostly with Ye Qingyun's perspective, but it has this warm, slightly wry tone that makes even mundane moments feel meaningful. When she watches the barren ground transform into neat rows of farmland, the narration doesn't just describe it — it captures her satisfaction, her sense of accomplishment. The voice makes us feel what she feels.
To be completely transparent, I've only finished the first chapter and I'm eager to continue. However, when I tried to access Volume 2, I found that chapters 20 to 97 were unavailable without purchasing from Amazon Kindle or similar platforms. It wasn't an exorbitant price, so I'm likely to make the investment and proceed. But I felt it's important to share this review for those who prefer not to spend money on the book. Apart from that, based on what I've read, the translation is excellent and the story is engaging. The only reason it doesn't receive a full five-star rating is due to the mentioned issue with accessibility.

I found it a good read, it's true he's an OP MC but I find the story more develops him understanding the world and his relationships, he doesn't care about the world or the people in the beginning, he doesnt want to be involved or pick a side of conflict. But he develops and starts to care about those around him.
It does have the classic nobles vs commoners trope and I find his ruthlessness satisfying in which he knows his situation is a matter of convenience, he doesn't need the rules and most decisions he makes are his own interests
At ch 1000 there is a total of 3 women, not even harem, virtually 0 romance, and only 1 of the 3 can even be kind of considered random... there really isn't any randomness at all...
This story saddens me. Its a nice world, settings, premisse. The baseline story is good, the author come up with some good stuff but then he trashes that in favor of more repetitive arcs.
There's this arc where a big tree pops up, MC comes to It after a tournament and do his thing. Then instead of figuring out the tree, MC goes to another f*ck*n tournament!! And these d*mn tournaments happen so often its annoying. You think he'd go back to the tree (since he actually f*ck*d a lot of people with what he did) but NO!! The whole thing is forgotten by the meth addict author.
Author decided It was a good Idea for the MC to have a student, only to show how the MC and the author are cut from the same cloth. He'll barely acknowledge she exists till the author forgets her existence as well.
The shop... Its like It doesnt even matter. MC is short on cash / energy. Needs It. Will he keep his store open to sell food? F*CK NO! If there's no slot for training, shop closes. Hardly sells pets...
