This is by far my favourite original work novel on this website. The concept for the story is interesting and the novel is well paced. I enjoy how characters have worth because it is possible for them to die unlike other novels. I really like the direction the novel is now taking with the Monks we're learning there is more to the world of martial arts in Japan than meets the eye. Friends and Foes have depth, personality and each feel unique from each other, which is a huge breath of fresh air from the usual 2D Chinese Villains. This novel has only gotten better as it continues and I can tell the author has improved along the way. I have no qualms with the grammar as I have noticed nothing off. All in All I would highly recommend, I only wish there was more :) Keep up the great work Author-san!
somewhat good from the start but later ison in the story, mc will become s7tupid which are the cases of some novel that has overpowered chrcterstics and strng backer in it. he doesn't think about the consequences of his action which is stupid. he always creates problems. if only in the story some of his love ones died and mature that is best.so overallthe story is okay the plot is okay, only mc has iq problem.
Fairly cliche, but less than you'd expect from a Chinese translation. The pacing seems great, the Mc is OP but without feeling like he is having everything to easily. So a weird OP but at the same time weak enough where you feel like if he's complacent he'll be killed. The character development isn't great, but that's expected from a Chinese novel. But at the very least the MC is level-headed and a reasonable person, at least more so than the majority of Chinese protags. The world and game system is decent enough, the modern scenes are slightly jarring but they serve some purpose of building the world-however, slim and meaningless that may be. His abilities and the system are interesting though, I get serious project zomboid vibes from the game, and it seems like a real challenge to play let alone survive, obviously tho the MC has his cheat which makes it easier. But if anyone has played project zomboid that only makes it so that progression is occurring at a tolerable pace. If the MC didn't have a cheat it would probably take him months to level skills. Anyway it has the stamp of approval from me.
Hey hey hey what is this bull**** the irregular updates were already a big pain in the ass now you want to put a fricking paywall are you trying to make people boycott this novel or what
Gaaaaaah, I love how the characters are just frustrate me! for now, the story serve the plot well. But Tell me the husband not the ML, does he???!
Love between this social class is giving me goosebumps ...
What I love about this text is how the author layers conflict into basically every single scene without it ever feeling forced. Take the hospital visit: Shu Xian goes in to stall for time, ends up getting cornered by a 1.95-meter doctor who removes his mask and leans in close enough that Shu Xian's entire body reacts before his brain catches up. He's physically trapped, he can't push the man away, and his internal panic is so palpable. Then he escapes only to walk back into Li Wu's arms where the kid immediately plays the scared victim card about being locked in the room. Every exit is just another entrance to a new conflict. The stakes keep escalating too — it's not just about completing tasks anymore. Shu Xian is developing genuine attachments and genuine fears. He's scared of Mo Sen moving too fast, he feels guilty about Li Wu's manipulation, he's confused by Fu Yichen's directness. And the bathroom encounter at the end introduces a completely new variable: a cold, intimidating male lead who could be dangerous, and Shu Xian just walked into his space while hiding. The author understands that tension doesn't come from big dramatic events — it comes from ordinary situations charged with unspoken stakes. A walk outside. A meal. A bathroom break. Each one could be the moment everything changes, and that's what keeps you turning pages.
