The story has a lot of potential and I absolutely love it. HOWEVER, as the story progresses, the author made a lot of mistakes along the way: plot holes, a strange naming sense, poor world-building (lacks originality), arcs that drag on because the MC needs to collect his Pokémon (females), and obviously dubious and unsettling romance.
There are many things I strongly disagree with, especially the Harem— (In fact, it would give more personality to the character if he only ended up with one person, but that's just me and my strong desire to ship Camus with Vikir.) However, most of you will probably agree that the author should have stick with just two female leads, because when Dolores and Sinclaire were introduced, the first two, Camus and Aiyen, got less screen time. This is disappointing since we had already built a strong attachment to them but the author basically forgot about them.

I genuinely adore this book. The main character possesses a mindset and charm that many would likely envy. He's enchanting, carefree, empathetic, and someone you'd wish to have as a friend or emulate. The male lead is more introverted and aloof, yet highly responsible. He doesn't act impulsively; he waits until he's certain about his feelings, which I find admirable. Their connection, whether together or apart, is captivating. There's a brief separation in the storyline, and I must say, their reunion leaves me utterly captivated. In terms of their past relationships, the MC has had prior encounters but nothing serious, while the ML had a past infatuation, as mentioned in the summary, but he's exclusive with the MC.
This isn't your typical slap-to-the-face novel, I mean, there's indeed quite a bit of physical altercations, but in terms of the genre, it doesn't exhibit the typical face-slapping elements. The closest we get to it is when the main character is falsely accused, which, if you consider that a face-slap, then fair enough. It does happen occasionally in the story.
If you're looking for a classification, I'm honestly not sure either. To put it simply, the plot revolves around a tug-of-war between the original and our protagonist, focusing on alliances and occasional heroine stealing. Our MC isn't actively seeking conflict, though. He's more laid-back, acting like a normal, calm individual without the exaggerated arrogance common in some novels. He has a plan, and it works, hinting at a smarter and collected background.
Now, onto the heroines. There are only two that I perceive as distinct, with personalities that go beyond being one-dimensional. They don't solely rely on the MC's change for their involvement, which is refreshing. However, there are secondary characters who fit that trope, alas.
The original MC is thankfully not an arrogant and lustful character. He's cunning and manipulative, but if told from his perspective, it could make for an interesting story. You might not outright hate him due to lack of portrayal of his inner thoughts, but if insecurity is your thing, you might still harbor some resentment. He does interact with the MC's past love interests, which might create tension.
The overall tone of the novel is melancholic, akin to "The Girls Who Traumatized Me Keep Glancing at Me, but It's Too Late" (assuming you're familiar with that work). Some supporting characters might view the MC as defeated, eliciting mixed emotions - heart-wrenching, cringe-worthy, or humorous, depending on the reader.
As for side characters, they're standard, going along with the flow and having biases, which is understandable. It's important to keep in mind that reviews can be subjective, so it's best to read the first few chapters to form your own opinion.
Lastly, I might need to rename myself, perhaps "TheYapper" or something...
