Okay I need to talk about this moment because my heart actually stopped. The Crown Prince literally bends down to pick up Su Yaoyao's Buyao hairpin and hands it back to her himself. HIM. The most untouchable man in the palace. And that touch—just fingertips brushing against her palm, like a feather's caress—and you can SEE his fingers curl almost imperceptibly. He felt it. He definitely felt it. But what got me is Xiao Qiming's reaction. This guy who's been so cruel to her, who grabbed her wrist so hard it left red marks, and suddenly he's feeling... guilt? He looks at those red marks and his chest tightens. Meanwhile he's out here publicly defending Su Yun'er and tearing Su Yaoyao down. The cognitive dissonance is literally painful to watch. He doesn't even realize he's the villain in his own story. And Su Yun'er? She's seething. The maid whispers that the dancer's family has been handled, but the Imperial Household Department is involved, and she's terrified. She can't understand why Su Yaoyao didn't react to the aphrodisiac powder. She literally cannot process that her victim might be smarter than her. That scene where Su Yaoyao smiles—bright smile, icy cold eyes—and says "you aimed it quite accurately"? Chills. Absolute chills. She knows. She's known the whole time. The romantic tension between Su Yaoyao and the Crown Prince is developing so slowly and so perfectly. Every glance, every pause, every almost-touch. And Xiao Qiming is just... there. Being miserable. Being blind. It's almost funny how much he's suffering from his own stupidity.
