One review mentioned that this novel isn't dark, but that couldn't be further from the truth. In this story, rape, which is often used as a standard punishment for villains in similar genres, is actually one of the lighter punishments. Characters frequently face far worse fates, such as being flayed alive, dismembered, or subjected to other gruesome tortures, even on what might be considered a "good day." , I love this novel and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a gripping and intense read.
