WOW, don’t normally read werewolf tales but this one took me by surprise. the Alaskan wilderness is such a fun setting for this tale! Cannot wait to see what happens with Eileen!

I absolutely adore this novel! The bond between the main character (MC) and the male lead (ML) is incredibly touching and heartwarming. Their previous lives were filled with such sadness, so witnessing their transformation and happiness in this story is a huge delight for readers. The translator does an exceptional job capturing the essence of the emotions, ensuring that no part of the original meaning is lost in translation. I'm really hoping I can see it through to the end, as this book was actually what motivated me to sign up for NU – it's that good! ?
I appreciate the intriguing premise of this novel, featuring a reincarnated former king returning to his past kingdom to explore new paths and observe the legacy of his previous life. The concept holds significant potential for a captivating narrative.
However, the world-building leaves room for improvement. There are elements such as nobility, the Knights' Order, enigmatic Highlanders, magical stone beasts, and rune-imbued artifacts, which create a basic framework. But it lacks depth, avoiding overly familiar tropes like "game skills" and leveling systems, at least up to chapter 33.
Characters are a major letdown, with clichéd and one-dimensional traits. The protagonist is an overpowering, carefree character who seems to act without consequences, while supporting characters remain shallow and underdeveloped.
The storytelling is predictable and linear, filled with repetitive events that lack meaning. It reads more like a formulaic feel-good tale about an almost-perfect hero with minor flaws that ultimately have little impact on the plot.
I wouldn't recommend this novel for readers seeking depth or critical engagement, as it caters more to a straightforward, unchallenging narrative. As another reviewer, sahs228, mentioned, I would advise against recommending it for boys, and I believe this recommendation stems from both the author's and translator's portrayal of certain gender dynamics that may not resonate positively with male readers.
This is the exact reason I couldn't stand this novel anymore and dropped it at chapter 1044
