Let me just say—the imagery in these chapters is genuinely cinematic. The Pei Group headquarters is described with this sleek, understated minimalist style on the upper floors that's strikingly different from the grand lobby below. Every detail screams refined restraint, which is basically Pei Yan's entire personality codified into architecture. And then you've got these floor-to-ceiling windows spanning the whole wall with a sweeping panorama of half the capital. Wen Zhiyu is standing there admiring the view when the elevator dings and Chu Wanning walks in like she owns the place. The contrast between that cold, impressive corporate space and the messy human drama unfolding in it is chef's kiss. But the real scene that stuck with me is the rooftop terrace on the 22nd floor. Winter wind, crisp and cool, Wen Zhiyu huddled under a sunshade, nose pink from the cold, holding that warm milk tea in tiny quiet sips. It's such a small, specific image—this powerful CEO's wife, alone on a rooftop, looking tiny against the vast city skyline. The author doesn't over-describe it. Just enough to paint the picture and let you feel the chill. Then Pei Yan appears with the heat pack and suddenly the scene warms up literally and figuratively. These environmental details aren't just decoration—they're doing emotional work.

It made no sense at all. Even the author knew because she kept writing notes between chapters trying to explaine why it made no sense.
This is a really incredible story, enjoyed every bit of it. Well done Jackie!!
The book cover design is really sweet and is enticing me to believe that there is more to this story than I already know.
