I really liked how you described the things that they saw and also the people in the book. It was really nice and flowing and flavorful and girrrl don't even get me started on the hot and steameyness of it all to. It had me want to try new things out with my man and I just turned 18 last month

The dialogue in this passage is deceptively sparse, and that's exactly what makes it work. Let me highlight the exchange between Huo Zhili and Yu Qingyu when they finally cross paths outside the hospital. He says: 'Congratulations.' That's it. Three words. And she doesn't even turn around. Think about how much the author could have done with this scene. A dramatic confrontation, a heated argument, maybe even a tearful reconciliation. Instead, we get three words from him and silence from her. The restraint is breathtaking. It's the kind of dialogue that trusts the reader to understand everything that isn't being said. Then there's Xu Borui, who serves as the comic relief but also the emotional translator. His line 'She's back, and you didn't even say hello?' is the kind of friend dialogue that feels genuinely natural—the kind of thing someone actually says when they're watching their best friend self-destruct and trying to provoke a reaction. And Huo Zhili's response about the 'good ex being dead' is dark humor at its finest, the kind of joke that's really a cry for help wrapped in sarcasm. The sibling exchange between Huo Zhili and Huo Songyi is also worth noting. 'You seem to have forgotten who your real brother is' followed by 'Brother, if you keep this up, I'll play this message for Mom.' This is sharp, modern, and perfectly captures how siblings actually talk to each other. No formalities, just threats and counter-threats.
An amazing book to read indeed. I just love how laura and gavin’s relationship developed and there were no unnecessary dramas. Would definitely recommend this book.
There really should be a part 2 to this book!
