Absolutely loved this book once again and the bonus mini novel at the end was awesome too! So many emotions I didn’t know where it was going to go but so happy I pushed through, such an amazing story line
That was great! Loved it.
it was a fascinating book I loved it very much
Nice stroy telling. Got me thrilled since the very beginning. I just hope Natalia won't get on her knees for that jerk Romeo.
I want to talk about how this section is structured because the pacing is actually really clever, even if it doesn't announce itself. The chapter opens with an intimate domestic scene — Pei Yan wearing her tie, the medicine routine, the quiet car ride. It's slow, almost slice-of-life. Then it cuts to Assistant Liu in the car, providing exposition about how everyone thought their marriage was cold. This is the author giving us space to breathe before the next beat. Then we shift to Wen Zhiyu's world — the museum, the autumn walk, the cafeteria gossip. The pacing here is light and conversational, almost mundane. And then — BAM — the WeChat messages appear. The pace quickens. The tension spikes. She deletes him. He calls her. The confrontation happens in real time over the phone. This is where the chapter finds its rhythm. After the phone call resolves, the story slows down again for the teahouse meeting. But now there's a different kind of tension — Gu Xingzhou's quiet observation, the signed contract, the lingering gaze. And then Lu Jingheng appears on the second floor. The chapter ends not with a cliffhanger per se, but with the sense that multiple storylines are converging. The author knows when to speed up and when to let scenes breathe. The medicine scene lingers because it's tender. The WeChat scene moves fast because it's comedic tension. The teahouse scene is deliberate and slow because it's building romantic suspense. Good pacing isn't about speed — it's about matching the rhythm to the emotional content.
This book is one of your best yet. Can’t wait for book 3
