Alright, I'll admit it, the concept is adorable. However, personally, I believe three stars might be a stretch. I'm giving it three stars because I assume most Slice of Life enthusiasts are more lenient with certain flaws. To me, the writing isn't up to par.
My main issue lies in the inconsistencies. The main character's statements often contradict themselves, either between chapters or within the same one. It seems like the author might not reread their work, as magic is prevalent but the MC is practically the only one using it. The lord is portrayed as incompetent, yet the region is relatively free of bandits due to the army's constant hunting. Despite being near a rich resource area, there's a lack of skilled fighters. There are numerous other examples that undermine the coherence when examined closely.
Another pet peeve I have, though not sure if it's the author or translator's fault, is the stiff and overly-specific writing. Early interactions feel forced and lack authenticity. Characters' dialogue occasionally comes across as condescending or sarcastic, which wouldn't be typical in real-life conversations.
Despite these inconsistencies, fans of the genre might still enjoy it without delving too deep. But in my opinion, there are much better Slice of Life novels out there that offer a smoother reading experience.
The *soul* is 18, yes, but the text explicitly states the body he’s inhabiting is a teenager’s. The ML is an adult, who *does not know* Lingxi’s soul is 18, and is still attracted to the teenager he thinks Lingxi is. THAT IS PEDOPHILIA. Even if Lingxi is *technically* 18, it is just as creepy and pedophilic, because the ML doesn’t KNOW that, and still expresses physical and romantic desire/attraction to him.

This narrative is indeed strong, and I appreciate the chemistry between the lead couple. However, by the end, the secondary characters who were chasing after the protagonist became quite irksome. It would have been better if the focus had been on the blossoming relationship between the main couple rather than dwelling on how insignificant they were to the protagonist. What captivated me about the main pair was their unexpected connection – it seemed to develop naturally without any刻意 planning from either of them or those around them. Their effortless compatibility was adorable to witness, and it was evident that the MC barely paid attention to the others. Their persistence, despite the MC's disinterest, only served to create an annoyance factor.
