I was supposed to read COI, or my house of horrors. but then I found this. well time to read this instead of completing my holiday homework.
The novel struck me as rather superficial, perhaps due to my own lack of a carefree青春。 I'm no longer as young as the characters, so I couldn't fully connect with their experiences, though I did find the characters endearing and became emotionally invested in them. The storyline, however, didn't resonate as deeply. Reading it was still enjoyable, if only as a casual pastime. I'm not typically drawn to this genre, but it was an adequate read.
What truly captured my heart and made me adore this novel was a particular fanart of Xie Yu and He Zhao – they were simply too attractive, almost overwhelming. Additionally, the bonus content, especially the emotional parts, tugged at my heartstrings. However, I found their reasons for pretending to be laid-back a bit implausible, which was a minor point of contention for me.

No, what you're not getting is that anyone knowing another language is interesting and cool in of itself. We're not talking about learning it as a kid, but learning it as an adult, taking language classes. That is impressive because it's hard learning a language, you don't speak every day. I took Spanish multiple years in High school, still can't speak anything, but the basics. Now imagine, a kid that knew no Spanish, and just by taking a few high school courses, they start to speak it well. That's like a genius. It's the same reason people think polyglots, are cool/interesting. In other words, it's not the English that's amazing, it's their ability to learn it easily, while their peers cannot.

It's fascinating to observe the disparities between the novel and manga versions, as the main character (MC) initially perished due to a monster attack, only to重生为一条鱼. He discovers that his world is far more perilous than he initially thought. Thankfully, the MC reincarnates relatively quickly, still within the same universe, which allowed for continuity. In the manga, there's a helpful system guiding him through tasks and rewards, whereas the webnovel presents a more self-reliant narrative, allowing the MC to better understand his situation and adapt to survive for a longer time, eventually aiming to communicate with his loved one. I'm eagerly anticipating the next chapters.
Finally! After struggling with Google Translate for about four to five days (my eyes ache and my head is pounding from lack of sleep ???), it was all worth it. This is incredibly adorable, and I absolutely loved it. The story is fantastic – not your typical tale of an overpowering general or president who claims you as theirs; it's a heartwarming, genuine love story instead.
The main character possesses remarkable talent but tends to be emotionally cautious and straightforward. On the other hand, the male lead is handsome, gentle, patient, and caring – he's just amazing in every way.
