There's so much going on symbolically in these chapters and I'm still processing it all. The durian is the biggest one. It's introduced as a gift of love — Old Madam bringing Yu Yue's favorite fruit. But it becomes the very thing that triggers the physical revelation of Yu Yue's secret. The smell that she couldn't even detect before (because her body had automatically blocked it out) suddenly becomes unbearable the moment she sees the fruit. It's like her body is keeping a secret her mind is trying to hide. The durian is the truth trying to break through. Then there's the medicine. Yu Yue makes calming pills for the grandmother. She carries silver needles. She knows acupoints. Traditional Chinese medicine is woven through her identity — it's how she survives, how she provides, how she cares for people. But the medicine also represents control. She controls her symptoms, her reactions, her public persona. The Hegu acupoint press to stop nausea — that's her literally pressing down on the truth. The pharmacy name 'Zhongsheng Hall' — I wonder if that's meaningful. 'Zhongsheng' could relate to traditional healing, to preserving life. And yet she's carrying a life that doesn't belong to the man she's marrying. There's this tension between healing and hiding, between what medicine can fix and what secrets can't be treated. And the seaweed wontons — yellow broth turning red with chili oil. The color transformation, the heat, the spice. 'Sour for a son, spicy for a daughter.' The old saying about pregnancy cravings becomes a moment of genuine hope for Yu Yue, a flicker of connection to the child she's carrying, however complicated that child's origin might be. These symbols aren't heavy-handed. They're woven into the daily life of the characters, which makes them land even harder.
It's so frustrating how every arc has such an abrupt end. But still, I love her. She doesn’t give up when she fails; she tries even harder until she succeeds.
There’s no real magic in the story, but every male character in each arc makes you fall in love.

I couldn't even last 40 chapters, with the little I read, my assessment of the work is not very intuitive, but I couldn't continue reading because it seemed irritating. It's like giving a stolen skill to an annoying monkey who makes jokes all the time. can be better? Of course you can, but I'm not going to read it because this work reminds me a bit of doulo dalu which is extremely boring, could the development be different? Of course yes, but the beginning is very similar. This work is not bad, I say it's decent for me and it's readable, there are a lot of bad works out there that I found so when I see this one, it seems a little childish and irritating, that's all. Hey is this harem? And it seems Mc was getting stronger to protect his loved ones in description but he just transmigrated to a GAME world and already he is getting stronger to protect strangers that maybe not be real individuals kinda seems strange to me
Currently, I'm giving it two stars. Having just completed the first storyline arc, I find the main character (MC) somewhat irritating and a hindrance. I'm uncertain if I can continue with her as the protagonist for the subsequent arcs, but I'll give the second one a chance.
Ning Shu appears to be a constant source of chaos and her role in the story seems quite limited, mostly due to her incompetence and reliance on others. As a "Pig Teammate," she frequently disrupts the School Doctor's tasks and lacks any notable talents. Despite claiming to have Taekwondo skills, she is easily taken advantage of and only occasionally manages to defend herself.
Additionally, her shooting abilities are abysmal. It's hard to accept that someone with minimal proficiency can justify owning a gun, especially considering her struggles to hit targets even after extensive practice at the shooting range. Her decision to rely on a gun for protection after her martial arts skills seems illogical.
Overall, I rate the story and translation two stars. My opinion might be biased since I read the first arc late at night, but it didn't impress me much. I'm hoping the upcoming arc will improve the narrative and justify its high ratings.
