So glad this book was suggested to me! I've been looking for something different and this is it! Really puts a twist on everything. Emotional rollercoaster but Amelia had me cheering the whole way. onto book 2!
It was a very good story even though I felt bad for the abhinav cause he will remain alone but a part from this I really enjoyed and all the chapters were very interesting
love it. great book
Love Ace & Miranda together! Just read the best, HOT scene ever! Your writing gets better & tighter with each book. Dialogue & storyline just riveting!
I loooooove them love the story love the author ...
got so hooked with the story. I can't wait for the next chapter.
Weak FL who returns to a man that did a messed up number of things to her.
another favourite, definitely worth reading
I’d read it over and over again. I love this book.
So with Jace death it seems like this book is going to drag. I was hoping for both of them to be together. I guess the author did not want the main male lead to be with Sage anymore, I guess the author is going to make Yale the new male lead. This sucks
39 chapters 3-24-23
I need to talk about A-Li's line: 'I was going to that day. But then I met Your Highness. It was the first time I'd ever eaten a full meal.' That's it. That's the sentence that wrecked me. The author just drops this casually in conversation and it hits like a truck. She was on the verge of becoming a bandit—of joining the very people Xiao Yu was sent to fight—because she was starving. And the first full meal she ever had was with him. The weight of that moment is devastating because Xiao Yu immediately understands what it means. He realizes his little sister Xiao Li, who cried over scraped knees, could never have survived that world. His entire motivation—his grief, his guilt, his quest—was built on the assumption that his sister might still be alive somewhere. A-Li's answer quietly tells him she's probably dead, and he just... loses it. But the most heartbreaking layer is A-Li herself. She crushes the pastry when she realizes Xiao Yu speaks to her the same way he spoke to Xiao Wan. She says nothing. Just hides the crushed pastry and smiles and says she's full. That scene in the carriage where Shen Yi points out the similarity and A-Li's quiet devastation? I literally had to pause and stare at the wall for a minute.
