If you think this is another wuxia trope full of cliche stereotypes, then you're completely right - BUT with the exception that the author has used a nice twist on each of the cliche. Trash MC that cant cultivate, but then magically solves his physique problems? Got it, but it takes a long time, and as of chapter 170, he's still struggling with it. Childhood fiance that comes to break up the engagement? Got it, but then due to righteousness sticks with the MC, as it would go against her values to go against her father's arrangement and kick a person just because he's down. Arrogant sect comes to take revenge after a few insignificant disciples being beaten (and thus in their eyes being humiliated)? Got it, but then the sect comes to apologise after learning that it was actually their disciples that were in the wrong. So yup, full of cliches, but they're refreshing. Another thing that's refreshing is the eccentric and very humoristic characters in the story. Yea, again, they're cliche, but they're pretty funny, and they each have their small quirk. Although the characters aren't that developed, it's a huge improvement to character development compared to many many other Chinese novels out there, where sometimes sidecharacters don't even have a sentence to describe them.Though full of mild praise, the world background is pretty convoluted, and the reader is only introduced to a small area of the world as you go along. Although this avoids information dumps, after 100+ chapters, it's pretty hard to figure out where the MC is in this world, and what the world actually looks like. On the topic of convoluted, the martial system is pretty difficult to understand, he opens meridians to advance, but there are never give a clear explanation to as what element meridians belong to which level or how many meridians he should open of each. Things are kind of mentioned on the fly, making the read just having to deal with it by accepting it. E.g., suddenly the author could mention, "now I've broken through the water meridian and opened my acupuncture, I'm now 1 step close to the martial warrior stage". Great, but how does this work? How many acupuncture do you have to open? What elements are there? Etc. Just reading about it, makes it all seem so messy - where if the author explained the system proactively, the reader would be able to keep track of the MCs progress.Another thing is the release stability - pretty damn horrible I'd say. Last release (as of writing) was 10 days ago, and before that it was pretty spotty with around a new chapter every 4~9 days. This really sucks, especially when this a really unique wuxia novel that does it's best to stand out from the crowd. So @translator, if you cant do your job stably, give it to someone else, hire more help, or give a clear message on what readers can expect from you. It says 8 chapters a week, but you're FAR from fulfilling that!Regarding the translation quality, there are some mistakes in both translation and grammar. Move over, there are mistakes in for example translating key information like the martial warrior stages, where one stage is used twice. Big no no, that a basic proof read should have caught.Overall, interesting story, funny characters with a world that feels developed. I hope that there will come a main heroine soon to bring some romance into the story, and a reveal of a deeper plot, which it really needs. So far the author has tried to hold back on filler chapters, but the translator stability and quality is a downside. I'd give the story 4.5/5, but the translator is bringing this story down by a notch. TL;DR: Give it a go, if you like wuxia novels and you're looking for something refreshing with a different spin.
This novel is not good. The translator is solid and released 80 chapters at once, but I don't have the willpower to finish them all at once. This is something you should read slowly otherwise you'll see too many of it's flaws and start puking. There are many reasons why it sucks, but I'll only go over a few (and it's one "saving grace" if you can call it that.First: The TransmigrationThis was done horribly, we don't know much about where he came from or who he was. He just mentions it a few times that he is a "transcender" with two souls so he is twice as powerful at the same level of another person. Aside from that though, what do we know? What the hell was the purpose of this??? 'Second: The MotherShe doesn't have much reason to exist other than giving our Main Character a reason to get stronger. We know basically nothing about her. She is a literal unfeeling uncaring plot point and it's scary.Third: The EcononomyIt makes no sense. I don't know what else to say. It makes literally 0 sense. I feel like, by the time I get to chapter 80, things are gonna cost well into the trillions for stuff like food. The price scaling is ridiculous and hurts my brain. In the same vein as that though, school is free... but apparently, you learn basically nothing and all that matters is catching them all- I mean being a beastmaster.Fourth: WorldbuildingThere is none. There is literally no worldbuilding aside from this: The world is called mercury and suddenly spacial holes opened up and out came monsters. There is some sort of alliance between nations that share a common currency. Also kids can enter a dangerous wormhole into a different world for some reason.Yeah it's pretty bad, but lets got onto the "saving grace" : The Main CharacterHe appears to be intentionally made flawed and seems like he's going to be given a character arc, in which he'll change and stop being such an ass towards the FL. He isn't great by any means, and the other characters are pretty bland hoping he dies for seemingly no reason but he is the best part of this. Oh and that includes the fights and everything so far. I'm being serious. My rating is only high because of the translator, read this if you like pokemon, super gene or monster paradise. If not then, don't
It’s an interesting concept however the MC gets annoying at times. Moments where all he had to do was speak up to clear a misunderstanding he didn’t, I don’t know if it was an attempt at humour but it gets tiring after the first. Also similar to what another reviewer said, forge apprentices are basically slaves but for some reason because of the MC they allow them to compete with other nations for important territory changing decisions (up to ch 122 so far). Like… what?
I will say everything is good until author decide to add love system OR whatever Grabage Trash,Trash,Trash

well i believe that mc is too much op. also in the beginning you can see some reason in the history, but later on all the chapters run between sex, sado and masochism, also the mc has a 2 ia´s helping him, one inside him, other outside, but in a magical ring. when you look at it you are jumping between universes where there is magic, tech, potion, aliens, elven, gods, alchemy long live people and time changing paradox. but all it is inside a whirlpool around the mc. where he just do as he like, also he has a complex with his parent, whenever he is. in a time place his 10 y.o mother is his babysitter, but in the next reality he is saving/ taking control of earth and he is about to have sex with her own mother that in that reality has 20 y.o although all those chapters are a little fun, but breaking and jumping that way made the novel too much heavy, where some times one has to ask when or where some sideline will continue or how. also the author take too much from others people ideas or novel, just to spice his own work. it was funny but when you used something too much its work backwards. i do think that the author should calm down a little bit, take care about some of the ideas or realities or follow them to a certain degree. not just jumping like crazy every 3-6 chapters and using just the time mastering as glue to unify everything here. the potential for a great novel its here, but it needs to work and polish a little more to be there
cuz i like hbs lol ........................
The first light novel I’ve ever read. I read it once years ago when I was still new to this world and loved it. I just read it again with more experience. There are better written novels out there but this one has good world building, a strong MC but not completely OP from the start and good character development. The ending being a bit rushed is my only critic. Oh, the fact that the author is terrible with numbers can be frustrating.Enjoy the read !
