Loved this series.
Recalling my impression, I initially found the start engaging, but my interest waned as the narrative progressed. The premise and storyline seemed promising, but the execution fell short in my opinion. The political element added some depth to the tale, but at times it felt bewildering, leaving me questioning its credibility.
The main characters were average, with the male lead, our protagonist, coming across as a somewhat unlikable do-gooder, while the love interest was your typical handsome savior type. The supporting characters brought some lighthearted moments, though.
If you're looking for a more relaxed, low-key read without deep thinking required, this might be a suitable choice for you.
In my view, this story can be classified as a clichéd isekai trash tale, no matter how I perceive it. The supporting characters and harem members exhibit plausible behavior and aren't simply mindless followers (except perhaps for a particular child character whose sole purpose seems to be for fan service). He methodically tortures the king and princess with acid, exploiting their past wrongdoings and public resentment, ultimately destroying their castle as an act of vengeance against the kingdom.
Now, if someone feels he's reacting disproportionately to those who ruined his life, I question why it should be seen as unusual. The story does deal with themes like drama, brainwashing, suicide, a twisted personality, and torture, which naturally contribute to a somber atmosphere.
As for my personal engagement, I won't continue reading the untranslated source material since it would consume hours and isn't worth the headache. Nevertheless, I'll follow the manga adaptation as it progresses, and if there's ever an anime adaptation, I'd definitely give it a watch.

I deeply regret ever wanting to set this book ablaze. As someone who personally went through similar experiences as a young person, there's nothing that angers me more than its gratuitous depiction in literature. It might have been justifiable for the protagonist's backstory, but the treatment of SA during the kidnapping scene was utterly reprehensible.
The writing was skillful enough to elicit empathy, but I cried not out of genuine emotion but due to the author's manipulative attempt to gain sympathy from the main character's perspective. Any minor inconvenience, like a sprained ankle, would have served the plot just as effectively without causing such distress to the MC.
The story's resolution leaves much to be desired, primarily because:
1) The love interest's reaction is consistently tepid or sympathetic until the very end, lacking a solid emotional connection.
2) The author's portrayal of the protagonist's emotional growth is marred by the traumatic events involving SA, effectively undermining their development.
3) Ultimately, there's no convincing basis for a lasting bond between them once the story concludes. Despite the superficially happy ending with their immortality and togetherness, it feels like a setup for a breakup rather than a satisfying conclusion.
In essence, the book fails to deliver a fulfilling narrative due to its heavy reliance on a triggering element and the unsatisfactory character arcs.
