Peace out everyone, may we " Meet" in another story's comments if we're fated too.
THIS NOVEL IS....It's really faakin same as like My Wife is a Beautiful CEO. Hot Police, PR / Sales Department, Cold wife, the MC is merchenary boss, MC wife is a CEO and the MC work at her corporation, , etc etc etc....And I don't know want to laugh or cry when i read and there is a FAAKIN FATTY GUY WHO APPLY FOR JOB WITH MC and asking the same question like in My wife is a beautiful CEO :'V HA HA ha ha h a h a.....But this novel is worse than My Wife is Beautiful CEO in story, characters, and world development.Really dissapointing

Great read! She also does not cut the chapters to only 1 per day!! Thank You!!
I need to talk about the pacing because this author understands something that a lot of romance writers don't: tension doesn't come from what happens, it comes from what doesn't happen. The entire first date sequence is structured like a series of almosts. They almost go to the movie. They almost get to know each other properly. They almost have a real conversation instead of her performing and him being politely confused. And then just when you think the scene is over, he catches her wrist. Just for a second. Just enough to make her feel something she didn't expect. The chapter breaks are doing heavy lifting too. The transition from the date to her home scene with her mother is perfect because it immediately shows us the gap between her public performance and private reality. She's lying to her mom about being smitten, but the narration undercuts it constantly. We know she's faking it. She knows we know. And yet she's committed to the bit because her mother is already on WeChat telling everyone. The dinner scene at the end is where the pacing really shines. It starts casual, almost mundane, and then Xue Nan's questions start landing like little landmines. Each one builds on the last until Xue Chen can't take it anymore and flees to the kitchen. The author doesn't explain why. Doesn't spell it out. Just lets the moment hang there and moves on. And that's the thing that keeps me turning pages. The author trusts me to connect the dots. She doesn't over-explain. She sets up a situation, lets it breathe, and then moves to the next beat. It's efficient storytelling that respects the reader's intelligence.
great book
