An interesting story that keeps hinting at potential but never quite reaches it, making it feel a bit rushed. As of chapter 56 (posted on October 1, 2022), the first arc (or possibly the first two arcs, as there is no clear division) is complete, and the author seems uncertain about where to take the story next.
The main character has more or less completed his intended class build and is now mostly refining his techniques. He has also secretly gone much deeper into the dungeon than anyone else in the country believes possible. While most people think that floor 30 is the new maximum floor, he is on floor 48 (as of chapter 56), and his friend (and the Female Main Character) regularly farms materials on floor 35. By chapter 56, the MC's actions have so significantly altered the situation from the backstory in the game that he is no longer sure what will happen next.
There are occasional fights and political maneuvering between factions and guilds, as well as some light hints of romance between the MC and the FMC to keep things engaging, but the author seems to have painted himself into a corner. Too much has already been accomplished—there doesn't seem to be much left to do other than steadily building up combat experience and personal levels (which are separate from class levels) while waiting for the hero to catch up so that the final boss can finally be confronted. The introduction in chapter 56 of a DLC-source transfer student seemed to be meant to introduce a new element, but then the author lost inspiration, leaving the story on hiatus.
A notable issue I have with the story is that the MC's strategy guide seems like a gimmick that is incredibly fragile. While no one can read it except him (it appears to be a book of blank pages to everyone else), what if someone were to take it or burn it? Is it a manifestation of a unique skill, such that it would reappear near him if moved too far or if destroyed? Or is it just a normal book that only he can read? This is never specified by the author. It just seems to be a book that, strangely, few are curious about, despite occasionally commenting on its blank pages.
Another issue that is sure to come up eventually is the matter of all the monster cores and drops he sells from floors 34 and above. Currently, they are strange but very valuable and useful cores/drops from unknown monsters, but as soon as others catch up to those floors—which he and the FMC have been farming for months by chapter 56—it will become apparent to the guild that he and the FMC must have reached those floors not long after floor 29 was cleared. Yet neither he nor the FMC have considered or planned for this issue—possibly because they don't think it likely to come up within the next year or two that they remain at the academy. The MC should know better, as the game is supposed to conclude before the academy is completed, but instead, he seems content to steadily build up a small but notable fortune by selling the materials.
This leads to another (false) issue. The hints of romance are kept from progressing further due to the class difference between the two, but once it is known that he is the masked adventurer who helped defeat the boss on floor 29, opening the path to floor 30, this class difference might become less of an obstacle.
Yeah but i think I'll wait for the manhwa cuz it's already out i feel like it's a waste to read the novel first
Hot take: Korean manhwas are better then their novels counterpart (only Koreanand possibly Japanese i haven't read any Japanese novels )
Thankyou for the update!!!!:))))
Author wasn't trying to make a dense protagonist, they were trying to give the readers health problems in slowest and most grueling way possible (o・`Д´・o)!!
I wonder just who was able to write this trash for so long. And people actually translated it? Daym
u can try The Dark King, on this site, I replied to a comment recently for a summary, the MC is like Leylin but even more ruthless, infact that MC in The Dark King even scares me, one of the scariest MCs
Is it true that sex scenes are censored or is it only for beginning chapters and they bring back the uncensored chs later on in story
Read everything through machine translation, but approach the summary with caution. The story centers less on the romantic aspect between the main characters and instead delves into paranormal investigations, cultivation, and the struggle for power. The female lead, contrary to the description, isn't as ruthless as portrayed. She was essentially a pawn forced to obey her imperial mother's whims to preserve her own life.
What I particularly appreciated was the Demon Division's crime-solving process and how each case gradually built up to a significant climax. I found myself engrossed in the mystery and plot, which is why I read it non-stop for three straight days, despite the initial temptation.
"‘I’m The Best!’ is a captivating read that leaves me breathless. The protagonist's unapologetic confidence is both exhilarating and relatable, as the story unfolds with unexpected twists. It's not just about self-promotion; it delves into the journey of self-discovery and resilience. Each chapter is a punch in the face of expectations, making it a thrilling roller-coaster ride. I found myself cheering for the underdog, rooting for the主角 to defy the odds. A must-read for anyone seeking inspiration and a reminder that believing in oneself can indeed conquer all."
"Unparalleled Dynasty" is an enthralling narrative that captivates from the very first page. The story's rich character development, interwoven with breathtaking power dynamics, keeps readers hooked. Each chapter is a rollercoaster of intrigue and unexpected alliances, making it hard to put down. The Strongest Sect's exploration of ambition, loyalty, and the human quest for greatness resonates deeply, leaving one pondering long after the final turn. A must-read for fans of epic fantasy, it masterfully combines thrilling action with profound philosophical themes.
