For all the Readers out there, you should definitely take a leap of faith and dive into the Amazing world of A. Gupta and you won't feel a bit of disappointment.
This chapter completely redefined who Xia Xing'er is for me. She's not just some wronged woman seeking revenge—she's a full-on force of nature who operates by her own moral code. Let me break down what makes her character so fascinating. First, there's this incredible duality. She's brutal—she shaved half a woman's head into a yin-yang style and drew turtles on her face, left a corrupt official peeing himself with terror. But she's also strangely principled. She left the Empress Dowager's concubines one set of clothes each. She left the Grand Tutor a quilt but not the vicious woman. She even left Lin Yuanfeng a blanket despite the... well, you know what happened. This isn't random cruelty. This is someone who has calculated exactly how much suffering each person deserves. And then there's the Empress Dowager relationship, which is where things get really complicated. Three years ago, the Empress Dowager granted her the imperial marriage decree without hesitation. Yesterday, she granted the divorce decree. But in the previous life, when Xia Xing'er's family was destroyed, the Empress Dowager did nothing—and may have even been involved. I love this book so far. I don’t want her to end up with any of the male characters who have been introduced so far. Lake and Madison seem like a great pair though.
