If his older brother is here from the capital, he would have laugh it off and says that few scars will help to shape a boy into a man. But their father has always been protective while their mother is the one that always encouraged them to go wild and experience new things.
the people who have hope know despair?
The dust remains of all three fell, falling directly onto feroo, mothly, and suri. This dust attracted the attention of the other two soul stones. Capturing the dust, they too, self-detonated, this time becoming a grey liquid. This liquid separated into equal parts, and went inside all of them.
Let me just be straight with you—the pacing in this thing is absolutely vicious and I am here for it. Chapter 1 opens IN MEDIA RES. No setup, no world-building preamble, just cold command, metal instrument, pain. You are immediately on the table with Xu Nian and there is no escape hatch. The author doesn't let you breathe. She wakes up confused, gets attacked verbally, receives the memory dump, spots the scalpel, confronts Qian Wenyuan, escapes, runs, collapses, discovers her space, and gets rescued by her brother—all in one chapter. That is a LOT of story for 2000-something words and yet it doesn't feel rushed at all. How? Because every scene has a clear purpose. The confrontation with the doctor establishes danger. The memory flood establishes context. The scalpel moment establishes resourcefulness. The escape establishes stakes. The space discovery establishes her cheat. The brother's call establishes family. Nothing is wasted. Chapter 2-4 presumably continue this momentum. The author knows exactly when to accelerate and when to let the reader catch their breath. The medicinal space scene is the perfect breather—it's quiet, almost dreamlike, and it gives Xu Nian (and the reader) a moment to process before she steps back into the alley. The cliffhanger structure is also on point. Each chapter ends on a note that demands continuation. Chapter 1 ends with her brother calling—warmth and safety, but also the question of what happens next. I'm guessing the subsequent chapters maintain this rhythm of tension-release-tension. One thing I will say: the author doesn't overstay any scene. The confrontation with Qian Wenyuan could have gone on longer, but it ends exactly when it should—with him screaming and her running. No lingering, no repetition. Every word earns its place.
"We've been here for nearly an hour. You gotta eat something. Cause if I'm hungry I'm pretty sure you are too." I grabbed his Instant Noodles and blew on them gently.
"That witch peered at the World's Secret and died, so that means what she said has an element of truth."
"Wait, who forgot Von's body outside?" asked Alucard.
