Comparison is the thief of joy
This novel, while having a similar level of quality to "Transmigrated into a Mary Sue Novel," lacks the engaging charm and readability. The dialogue is presented in a confusing blend of regular conversation and script format, making it difficult to follow. Grammar and sentence structure are virtually nonexistent, leaving much to be desired even for a basic machine translation. It's hard to distinguish between group chats and spoken exchanges, which greatly hampers comprehension, especially considering the heavy reliance on dialogue.
The logic of the story seems to be tossed aside, and despite potential speculation that it's a parody, the tone is mostly serious when the main character (MC) isn't engaged in slapstick. Even for a light read, the implausible plot twists make it challenging to enjoy. While some may find enjoyment in straightforwardly playing with cliches, the MC's portrayal as a well-rounded, non-power fantasy self-insert is inconsistent, making it unsatisfactory compared to other more enjoyable options.
A spoiler warning: The love story between the MC and the male lead (ML) remains unclear. Despite the MC's physical attributes being highlighted, there's no evidence of her wit or deeper connection, at least up to chapter 101. The ML's love seems to stem solely from her appearance, which feels superficial.
In a shocking turn of events, the system prompts the marriage, and the MC simply asks for the nearest available bachelor, without any romantic pursuit or flirtation. This rushed decision leaves readers shaking their heads (facepalm moment).
Perhaps I've become too disillusioned with all the clichéd showbiz stories, and this narrative doesn't feel particularly original. FL, with her musical background, can play piano, violin, and numerous other instruments – that's not a big deal. However, it's hard to swallow how someone without acting experience performs flawlessly, rarely needs retakes, garners praise, and becomes a brand ambassador as a新人 – it's a bit too convenient!
ML seems to be an omnipresent presence in FL's life. As a superstar, he must have ample time to accompany FL at the agency, on set, and during shoots, while also managing to spend quality time with the child, whether at the market, amusement park, or their home. It's almost as if he possesses teleportation skills!
The child appears to be shockingly mature for his age – I've interacted with other two- or three-year-olds who are less intellectually advanced than him. His behavior feels forced and out of character, lacking the charm one would expect from a child. Unfortunately, this seems to be a recurring theme in Chinese entertainment.
Online comment sections are filled with individuals with low emotional intelligence, quick to anger and hurl criticism without reservation. The chapters are peppered with such remarks, creating a rather toxic atmosphere.
Fellow Daoists, I humbly ask you to grant me a pinch of your wisdom and vast experience in the Dao of Reading. Would it be possible for the elder brothers to recommend cultivation novels with Op characters? It's not necessarily necessary to have a system, nor is it necessary for the protagonist's cultivation to take off like a rocket, just a fast pace or a dominating cheat is enough to satisfy my momentary pleasures. This little Brother Junior thanks you in advance.
Does anyone know what's the chapter for the part where they reveal that He Zhichu and Gu Nianzhi are half-siblings from the same mother ?
