Okay so let me just say—this chapter is a masterclass in layered plotting. On the surface, you've got the immediate conflict with Li Wei getting absolutely destroyed, which is satisfying in the moment. But then the author drops this bomb about Wen Yuxuan being the mastermind behind the rumors, and suddenly everything clicks into place. Remember that glance between Zhou Hao and Wen Yuxuan? I missed it the first time but now it's screaming at me. The setup is so clean. And then there's the dual timeline thing happening with Wen Zhili. In her past life, she was naive and got hurt. Now? She's playing 4D chess while everyone else thinks they're playing checkers. The line where she checks her phone and thinks about the 'grand gift' she's preparing for Wen Yuxuan—chills. Actual chills. She's not just reacting anymore, she's setting traps with the patience of a spider. What I love most is how the Huo Cheng scene at dinner sets up this delicious tension. He's trying to perform kindness for Grandpa Huo's benefit while Huo Shengbai is right there, silently dismantling every move with superior knowledge of what Wen Zhili actually likes. The chicken soup vs white fungus soup moment? That's not just romance, that's strategic positioning disguised as courtesy. The plot is moving on at least three different levels simultaneously and I am obsessed.

I'm in the first chapters of the book. But regardless of the unfolding of the story, Abram is a terrible man. And if she forgives him, I'll regret reading it. Force the woman to have an abortion?! Ridiculous.

Love! Muse books are a roller coaster of emotion. She’s pretty accurate on characters especially the ones who suffer different kinds of abuse. Some comments are tough since I know people just like the characters who’ve gone through similar situations. Didn’t have it figured out either

I like the book just really slow to get to the point. I’m already 70 chapters in and nothing yet. I like a slow start but for all of the action to happen at the end of the book is frustrating, but worth the read
