I frequently revisit the initial chapters of Arifureta, hoping to pinpoint what went awry... primarily, it's the harem aspect that derails the story. Actually, that's the sole reason. In every arc, a new female character infiltrates the protagonist's harem, and occasionally, I can tolerate it when it's not too excessive. If only the author had introduced male characters as companions without eliminating almost all the girls, focusing on Yue and Tio, that would have been fantastic. But alas, life isn't always kind to our desires, despite them being a recurrent dream in my thoughts.
So it does more-or-less end up with that sort of OP protagonist stuff that is antithetical to cosmic horror then. Glad I didn't pick this up. I just wish there were more authors who could write cosmic horror correctly.

Dropped this at chap 224. Personally i feel like the start, while basic, goes off very strong, then It just basically the same trope back and fort. I mean thats basically what u expect in a novel like this, but the way the power levels and the level up system works, It just doesnt give that kind of trill. I recommend Seul station necromancer, if you are interested in a novel about necromancer and warlock of the magus Word if you would like to go down in dept into dark magic.

8. Good Romance! (But you have to face 3 Demons and 1 Raksha ?)
9. MTL Poetry (Only at the beginning, gets better after 20-30 chapters)

if this novel was anything like Legendary Mechanic where the MC focuses on growth and the cool sci fi stuff then this would be more popular
