It's not an instant power surge, but a gradual tale of how the main character grows stronger through continuous learning. I appreciate this pacing—it's neither too rushed nor too drawn out, allowing me to savor the story at a comfortable pace (even though I finished it in just three days). While I have no issues understanding and enjoying the narrative, there is room for improvement in the translation or editing. The tag "hiding true abilities" is what drew me in. , I am very satisfied with the story.
The MC keeps getting belittled, and it's incredibly frustrating. They somewhat care but turn a blind eye when it becomes unbearable. I was already aware of the ML's jerkish behavior from the translator's warning, but the level of disappointment is more profound than anticipated. The MC's demeanor reflects unaddressed trauma, and I don't see any resolution on the horizon. It's all about the ML magically fixing things while conveniently forgetting he's the root cause.
Furthermore, it's disheartening to see another violent ML in a Korean BL. It seems like being a killer is equated with being attractive. I've decided to drop this series. I'd rather have Saturn as the main love interest.
I recently tried to read this novel, and while it had some interesting ideas, I had to drop it.
The author kept bouncing between info dumping and speeding through the plot, which made it really hard to stay engaged. I felt like I was drowning in details at some points and then missing key moments at others.
Another thing that bugged me was that the side characters ended up being way more interesting than the main couple. Their backstories grabbed my attention much more. The main couple had some chemistry, but the buildup was slower than a snail.
Also, the pacing was all over the place. Some sections dragged on forever, while other parts flew by without enough buildup. It was a bit frustrating and broke my immersion in the story.
While the translation was nice, the pronouns kept switching between "she" and "he," which made reading a bit more confusing than it needed to be.
I’m quite disappointed overall.
If you want a MC who only knows how to fight or is a manipulator, definitely do not read this novel because it is not for you.When I saw the harem tag in the novel, I thought that it would be a very difficult harem like the classic Korean novels and that MC was an *d**t who did not know how to deal with women, so I didn't want to read it but I decided to give it a chance and I'm glad I did, it was a really different style and novel, I liked it very much.
This one is a good read, I had to take a couple days break from it just to digest the plot but I would say it’s really good. The TL;DR of it is: Alternate Ending to Harry Potter.
The MC in this is pretty fleshed out, a knowledge seeker with his own morals and principles that may have been from outside influences or disastrous consequences. He rarely makes any sort of mistake a second time which also brings up what type of character he is.
The background is HP so for any1 that has any idea of what HP is, you can kinda get it well. Just that the Potter family changed a bit.
To me, what defined and ruined it for me are The Vaults. They are amazingly written to the point I believe it’s in a canon book somewhere. But at the same time, the Colours Arc (Part of the Vaults) is what made a lot of people disappointed in this book. (Speaking of which, Daphne Greengrass is a real popular option huh?)
Other than the ending was a bit rushed, it’s a solid read. (8/10)
